In public, it was all hugs and kisses. In private, Stephen Harper was so outraged by this traitor in the con-servative ranks, that his nurses had to double his medication and he wasn't allowed near sharp objects until Angela Merkel was safely in the air, bound for home.
Harper is one of the world's biggest climate deniers and one of the world's few leaders who has never held a real day job as an adult.
Merkel - by contrast -is the rare conservative leader who believes in climate science and has a PhD in quantum chemistry AND held a real job in science , to back her up.
SkyGods vs earthlings is probably right that her PhD in 21st century science trumps Harper's half remembered classes in high school ( aka Victorian) science ....
